Katia & Fauzan are truly accommodating host. Katia personality checking on us everyday whether our stay is okay and always going beyond miles providing insight to make our stay & short trip memorable.  The accommodation such a dreamy place with lush green garden and wide open paddy field. We love how Katia gave us insight about the community we’re living too. Katia’s team, Parsiyem, are truly wonderful as well, we loved her Nasi Goreng for breakfast ! Her helpfulness taking care of our Jamu workshop request and laundry make our trip experience seamless. If you’re looking for peaceful place, with impeccable hospitality- this the perfect place for you !

I was visiting Jogja for a pandemic friendly staycation and I think this place is perfect cause it’s quiet secluded. The room is adequate for two people. The raining season has just begun in Jogja when I arrived, so the temperature in the room is supringly nice with the fan and no mosquitoes whatsoever. Breakfast is amazing. Bathroom in the outdoor space is amazing. The host is very friendly and attentive. My boyfriend really loved the Mini Kitchen. My favaorite part is enjoying breakfast and sunrise at the patio while looking at the rice fields. And the tranquility that surrounds it; just the sound of nature. Love. Definitely an unique experience and totally recomment it.

We mostly stayed in to work and it was a lovely natural space for that – great hospitality, yoga barn and wifi. A lot of nice warungs around to eat around the area, details of which Katia has kindly printed out in a booklet for guests. Not too far from the city either. I would stay here again!

What can I say? This place is magical. It really is right in the middle of nature and there’s something so wonderful about falling asleep to the sound of frogs, even if it took a little getting used to at first. The bed was very comfortable and I didn’t have any issues with bugs. Breakfast every morning was amazing — the light over the rice paddies is spectacularly beautiful. You have to see it to understand. All the breakfast foods prepared by Persiyem were delicious. I especially loved the savory tempeh with rice and the plates of fresh fruit she would prepare. Being from an urban environment, I was a little apprehensive about the outdoor bathroom at first, but quickly grew to love it. There’s something so relaxing and amazing about the whole space. I also had the best massage of my life here! Better than any “luxury” spa experiences I’ve ever had — you can’t beat a massage where you have the sound of nature all around you and a warm breeze on your back. Lastly, I really have to give a shout-out to Katia and her staff members. Katia was very responsive to all messages before my arrival and the staff members who took care of me were simply the best. Their manager Murti made me feel at home immediately, and the housekeeper Persiyem is a true gem of a person. She has the brightest smile and a laugh that can light up anyone’s day. Her breakfasts were delicious. Both of them were so helpful in arranging activities, too. The driver Joko was also wonderful. I booked two day trips with him to see Borobudur, Prambanan, and a whole bunch of other places. He speaks great English and was an extremely kind and patient guide. All in all, I couldn’t recommend this place more. If you are a nature-lover, this is the place for you. If you would like to learn to love nature, this is also the place for you 🙂 A thoroughly relaxing and delightful experience.

Our stay at Joglo Gumuk could not have been any better. The location in the rice paddies is calming and beautiful, we booked 2 nights and decided to stay for 5, as it is such a lovely place to respite from the city. Katia is obviously very passionate about providing a beautiful environment for her guests. She has thought of everything from lovely body soaps and tea candles to genmaicha tea!  The little hut is a beautifully maintained traditional joglo, the magnificent outdoor shower is not so traditional but it is definitely a joy to spend time in, particularly under the hot shower in the monsoon rains! And Parsiyem! Parsiyem the housekeeper always makes you feel warm with her lovely smile and wonderful breakfasts! Her friend also gives really great massages, the best I have had in Indonesia so far. We were the first guests to use the newly finished private kitchen next to the hut which is great if you don’t want to leave the property, as is very understandable. The area surrounding is some of the most beautiful and interesting around Yogyakarta, it is not too far from a lovely waterfall and the eating options around  are great. I could write many more things but think I may have gone a little overboard already. In short; a very lovely place to stay.
